22nd December 2012

The people said that the World was going to end on 21st December 2012, but me and my family and friends are still alive. Of course, I did not believe in this kind of thing but at least I thought that something was gonna happen. Like for example, an alien UFO ship fell on Earth or something. Hahaha, I guess I'm a bit weird. But I also wished to have super powers like those characters in the cartoon shows.

Therefore, my Christmas wish is " All I want for Christmas this year 2012 is to have superpowers like to be able to fly or heal anything, to do very well for my upcoming 'O' levels in the year 2013 and to be as lucky as I have ever been!!! "

Therefore, Christmas, 25th December 2012 is coming in 3 days and I asked my mum to give me Korea seaweed as my friends say that their seaweed is delicious. I asked my brother to get me a new earpiece as mine spoiled a few weeks ago. But he said he will get me another present as that does not count. What I really want is to get a Ipod Touch, a great watch (as I have not worn one for about 3 years already) and to get a Smartphone contract from Singtel / M1 shop, preferred to be HTC, Samsung or Apple Brand~~

*P.s. I have started menstruation ( the women's blood stuff) on 20th December 2012, around 6pm. {For my knowledge only just in case I lost the calendar or paper so DONT NOTICE THIS!!!!}

Won an Award!!

A few weeks ago, I received a letter saying that I have won the new Edusave Character Award and I was like 'oh my gosh!! It so amazing!' Then my mum looked at it and she smiled and walked away. I am feeling so happy as only about 8,000 students in Singapore can get this award for now. But now, my mum is like, 'how can you even get this award with this kind of attitude, sitting in front of the computer for the whole day?' And I told her ' Don't scold me because your television spoiled and would not listened to you...' sigh~~ I need to do work now. hahaha :) Guess I have to do more housework, read books, do assessment books more often now just to please her and make her happy since her mood is so bad nowadays. Everyday scolding more often, but it is just the womens' thingy.

So hopefully, I will write more posts next year. This is like my own timeline for myself, just for my record only.

School's Gala Dinner Rehearsals~

On 17th November 2012, there was another Gala Rehearsal in the hall. Chinese Orchestra members had to come earlier to set up the chairs and stands, tune the instruments and warm up first before the conductor comes. Me and my friends  are quite excited and anxious about this performance. But I thought playing the song 'Matsuri' as the opening performance was quite boring as we could not shout the "Hu'  and 'Ha' loud enough.

We rehearse in the hall for 1 to 2 hours with the same song. It was tiring, boring and stuffy as our school hall's stage is too small for the whole Chinese Orchestra. And the worst part was that the conductor was absent so we did not perform very well. Every single practice, we rehearse on our 'Hu' and our 'Ha' as it was not loud enough. We said that the AVA crew should just install Mics but Ms Chew said that there was already not enough space. I wonder what we will be wearing for our Gala Dinner Performance.

After that, we bought back our instruments into the music room and kept the instruments into our store room. We then gathered for the teacher to say a few words and comment on our performance at the hall just now. She said that it was not good and we could have done much much much much better. We were then released and I went to eat lunch with my friends.

On 19th November 2012, Monday, there was another Gala rehearsal. We had to report earlier as usual to set up the chairs and stands, tune the instruments and get ready before the conductor comes. Today, Mr Chua, our Chinese Orchestra conductor, came for practice. He told us that he will not be conducting us on the actual day of the Gala Dinner as he has to conduct another Orchestra at another occasion for the Guest of Honour, the President. He said that another instructor would be conducting and it was the Woodwind instructor. Most of us did not know him as we were of different sections. We were all looking forward to meeting him.

Then around 11 to 12am, he came into the music room and Mr Chua told him the details. We did 2 demonstrations by playing the entire song. Then he tried to conduct. At first, it was quite messy and frustrating. Then, we went for a 45 minutes lunch break. By the time we came back, it was time to rehearse in the hall. We had to bring all our instruments to the hall. It was tough as very few people came to help the percussion, the drums group. They only took care of their own individual sections. I felt a bit disappointed.

We started to rehearse in the hall with the woodwind instructor. It was better and he managed to conduct better than in the morning. After the 1 and a half hours of rehearsing in the hall, we put our instruments into the 3E2 classroom. We moved the tables outside and arranged the chairs. After that, I went to help the yang qin and percussion group to move their instruments to the classroom. I was very tired and sweaty. After that, the teacher locked up the room and we went to the music room to gather. Ms Tan said we did a litttle better than before but we still could improve further. Then we were released.

One of my CCA combine practices~

On 3rd November 2012, there was an additional Combine Practice as the Secondary 3 students needed to go for Step Up Programme to prepare Sec 3s for Next year 2013 'O' Levels examinations So nervous, Prelims and 'O' levels is just months away... Anyway, since the Sec 3s could not go for the other practices during the first two weeks of the Year-End Holidays, Ms Chew added an additional Combine Practice on Saturday, 3rd November.

I went there slightly early and started to tune my instrument. I started to play a few songs to warm up first. Then our instructor came. All of us then sat on our seats and waited for the further instructions, The instructor said to play 'Matsuri' first for the Gala Dinner. Our two seniors, ex-students, came back to help us for Gala Dinner by playing the drums in the Percussion Section. As without them, it would not feel as nice as this Japanese song really needs the Drums. We practiced until our breaktime. Me and my friends walked down to the canteen and then I went to the bookshop. It seems that I only need to buy 1 English Comprehension Book and 2 Science CHR Practice Papers for next year!

After break, I went back to the Music Room and it was time to practice our SYF song. Then after a while, the instructor said that he wanted to hear 大提琴, Cello and 中阮, Zhong Ruan Solo. I was so nervous as I have not really mastered the skill of 'rolling' yet. When it was my turn, I either played the part too fast or too slow. I felt so embarassed at that point of time. Our instructor said that Yoke Mun and Claudia did better as it felt more 'solid' the '厚' feeling again. My section teacher said the same thing. But I totally can explain the 'solid' as it really depends on the fingers' sizes too as both of them have "fatter" fingers than me if you can understand. My fingers are too small and thin to be able to get that feeling..sigh~ The next CO combine practice will be on 12th November 2012, Monday. Hopefully, it would be a better day!!

~Outward Bound Full Reflection continuation~

Day 1
When I learned that I was going for this leadership camp, me and my other friends who were going, was so excited as this is a rare opportunity for us! OBS is recognised locally and internationally as a leader in the field of adventure education and outdoor leadership learning. In tandem with the schools' student development curriculum, they have a wide range of pragrammes designed to further develop youth leadership and outdoor technical skills. The OBS camp that I was attending was a 5 day 4 night programme that challenges everyone both physically and mentally.

On the first day of camp, which was 18th June 2012, me and my friends gathered at the school canteen at about 6.30am, then we boarded the small van to Punggol Jetty. After reaching there, we were split into groups with other students from other secondary schools. My group was group 8 - Munshi. After a long wait, I boarded the ferry 'Symphony' to Pulau Ubin Island. My group was led by my instructor, Kai Yong. We started the introduction and played some icebreakers to get to know each other better. My first lunch at OBS was held at their kitchen. It was nice and we had to wash and dry our own dishes as well.

My group went to do the Trust Fall activity and I volunteered to be the first to go up the steps, trust my new-found friends and lean backwards to fall onto the fabric my groupmates were holding. It was a bit scary at first but I managed to push myself to fall backwards. I felt that it was affinity and fate that bought us together in the same group, Munshi. After eating our first dinner together by cooking maggi mee and some other ingredients that they gave us, we pitched out tents in the woods nearby, bathe and slept. At first, I could not sleep as I was sleeping in an unfamiliar surrounding - the wilderness. Then I started to miss my family and my home. This reminded me of what my senior experienced when she came for this camp last year. She said it was tough but fun and that I will miss my family more and more as the days go by. I did not believe it at all but it is true...

Day 2
On day 2, me and my group had to wake up at 7am, pack the tents, wash up, eat breakfast and meet Kai Yong at 7.30am. We were a bit late. Kai yong decided to have a chat with us as we were not getting along well as a group and that we were a very quiet and awkward group. He then showed us a few pictures that he drew on the cardboard. He told us many stories and told us the process of a group: Forming, Norming, Storming and Performing. It made me remember that I have learnt that in the Adventure Experimental course: Planning an outdoor camp [AEM}.  He also gave us a card and asked us to write a journal of our daily reflection in this camp. Then, we learned to belay someone. After learning that, we did the super challenging High Elements there. It is definitely much tougher than the ones in my school. It was so Cool! I paired up with Stephine and then we climbed. We managed to finish it finally after a bit of help from our instructor, this needed a lot of teamwork. We were both glad that we could complete the High Element. Then we ate lunch and pitched our tents before it gets dark.

We went back to our own camping bags and took out the stuff that was needed for 2 days and 2 nights. We were going to the Jungle in day 3. Me and Stephine became best friends in this camp and we shared the same camping bag provided by OBS as there were not enough bags. I learned that there was a need for perseverance, team spirit, team work, encouragement and motivation in every single group. As without these few qualities, the group would not be able to withstand the difficulties ahead of them. My instructor also wanted the group to remember and love our family that had took care of us for the past fifteen years of our lives. He is a passionate instructor.

Day 3
On day 3, we had to kayak from 10.30am to about 5.30pm, from Camp 1 to Camp 2. We practically kayaked the whole of Pulau Ubin Island which was about 32km. It was very tiring. Me and my buddy had to keep encouraging and pedalling each other while encouraging the rest of the people who were slowing down their pace. At first, me and Stephine could not kayak but after Kai taught us how to change direction of the canoe, we managed to get a hang of it and started to chase after our group as we were very far behind. The kayaking group was three smaller groups combined together and was named as Camp 1 Charlie. In the end, after eating lunch and drinking water in our kayak, we finally managed to reach Camp 2 earlier than expected after all the hardship and obstacles we had gone through together.

We pulled up the kayaks and put our camping bags at the destinated place. We started to take out the pot and the food and our belongings. Some people went to bathe first, some went to cook dinner for the whole group, some went to wash the metal tins while the rest went to pitch the tents. It was very chaotic and busy. After a long day of kayaking, all we could think of was to have a good night sleep while the expedition leaders had to stay back for more briefing for day 4. I could not sleep until Stephine came back into the tent from her briefing. It was a very short night.

Day 4
On day 4, we had to pack our stuff and the tents, eat breakfast and change our clothes. It was the Land Expedition, We had to carry our heavy backpacks and water bottles with us and had to walk back to Camp 1 which was about 5.5km away from Camp 2 without counting any checkpoints. By the time we reached our first checkpoint, we were tired. It was the summit or the tallest point of Pulau Ubin. Kai asked us to shout 'We can do it!' and we did. It echoed back. This gave everyone the motivation to move on. By the time we reached our second checkpoint, we were exhausted. Then we ate our 'Happy Food' for our lunch, It contained small buns, cookies and other small snacks. By the time we reached Camp 1, I was itching all over as I had dozens of mosquito bites on me. And the worst part was that Kai said that eating medicine is not good for the body so I could not eat my Zythec which could help to relieve the itchness of the mosquito bites. My groupmates were so happy that they made it, It was a great accomplishment for all of us!!!

The instructors gave us a very long break for us to rest and wash up. We washed up, put our things back into our own camping bags, counted the OBS stuff that we took out in day 3. We went to bathe, eat our dinner, played games, chat. After the long break, the instructors said that they had chosen Munshi and Marshall to do a Community Involvement Project (CIP) for the needy. Everyone agreed and felt excited to be a part of this programme.

Day 5
On day 5, it was the last day of camp and everyone started to miss each other. We were all unhappy and wanted to stay on. After doing the morning exercises, we went back to eat our last breakfast together, pack our own stuff and clean up before leaving the camp. After clearing everything, we sat down in a circle and played many games like 'Truth or Dare'. After that, we went to assemble in their hall, and said our final goodbyes before taking the ferry back to Punggol Jetty. I took the ferry 'Symphony' back to Punggol Jetty.

Although this camp was tiring and exhausting, it was a great camp. As I get to know more friends and a very good instructor, Kai Yong. This taught me a lot about leadership, especially on team work. I will always cherish the wonderful moments and memories! It was definitely a great experience for me!!!

Raffles Girls Sec Sch Concert 2012 - Melodies of the Dragon!!!

My School's Chinese Orchestra group went to watch this concert. It was the Melodies of the Dragon by Raffles Girls Secondary School. I heard that they have won the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Gold Award. So we went to watch it!!! The music was nice and there was sectional performances, solo performances and the whole Orchestra performances. The songs chosen were inspiring and there was one song that made me remember my past. The song is called 'Spring'.  The second last song that the full Orchestra played was the 'Prelude of the Lion City', it had this rhythm of Singapore. I don't know how to explain it but it did felt like the Lion CZiry somehow. I guess this is the magic of the Chinese music and instruments. The percussion members was amazing as even though they were all girls since this was a girl's school, but they were very strong and persevered all the way.

I felt the charisma and flow in the music and in every single member in the Orchestra. Even though there was a few mistakes made which I guess not many people noticed, but it was super amazing that they had such great teamwork and rhythm. I guess they must have spent a lot of time to practice on the songs as they had to memorise some songs too. The costume or attire was very nice and I felt that the Colour Red really is the colour to represent Chinese Orchestra. As red is an auspicious colour to the chinese! :D

After the bus driver drove us back from Dunman High School to my School's nearest bus stop, we were all quite sleepy. My father came to fetch me and I went into his car and he drove off to the Kopitiam near Woodgrove Primary School. We bought supper and went home to eat it. It was a very interesting night!!!

YouthPhoria Event 2012!!!!!

Recently, I bought tickets for my brother and me and my friends. The ticket was for this event called the 'YouthPhoria' and it was for the young entrepreneurs from different secondary schools and polytechnics. My school set up a booth called "Kampong Craze" and sold items that was in kampongs last time and also sold tidbits at a very expensive price. Me and my friend, Wan Hoon, went to play the carnival games, visit the Singapore Discovery Centre and Army Muesum of Singapore, watch 3D Madagascar 3 movie and we decided to watch the 3D Tornado Alley some other time. All these cost only $6 because of the 'YouthPhoria' event. But we also went to buy the tickets for the 4D Simulation Ride as we were excited and curious and was super eager to try it out. It was totally a fun thing and although it was a short ride, it left a ecth in my heart!! :D I totally love going out with friends and I had a whale of a time at the Singapore Discovery Centre which is at near Joo Koon MRT Station.

Outward Bound Singapore!!

I went to Outward Bound Singapore on the 18th June - 22nd June 2012 and it is held at Pulau Ubin Island. I        had many mixed feelings and emotions during this 5 days 4 Nights camp. I learned many things in the camp especially more about leadership skills and team work. The camp was very fun and interesting and super tiring!!! During the sea expedition on Day 3, Munshi, which is my group, and two other groups, Marshall and Jalambajang , formed a big group named Camp 1 Charlie and together we kayaked around Pulau Ubin Island which was about 32km. Some of us pee in the sea and we also ate in our own kayak in the big open sea. The minute we saw the dark clouds approaching, we knew that it was going to rain and so we sped and pedalled like crazy so as to escape the rain and thunder. It was very FUN!!! And I love my group, Munshi, and made new friends and love Kai Yong, my Outward Bound Singapore Instructor. He has been doing this job for two years and many people say he is the hottest instructor there!!!!! :D

More information will be given once I get back my 4 A4 Size pages long reflection on Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) that I passed to my Councillor teacher, Mr Hu. I hoped he would pass the reflection back to me as it holds many many precious memories that I want to keep with me!!!!! :)

busy busy busy during the June Holidays 2012!!!

For the first 2 weeks of the June Holidays, I slacked and was so lazy to do my homework that I forgot that revision is suer important and in the last 2 weeks of the June Holidays, I would be very busy. But I was lazy and procrastinated until now. All of the homework are not completed and I am struggling to complete them before the June Holidays end. Why am I so busy? As I am the EXCO, it is a leadership position in the Council Board. I am the Head of Discipline and I am also the Vice-Chairperson of Chinese Orchestra in my CCA, so I am so busy preparing for camps and other events.

Here are the upcoming events and stuff that I need to do:

  • 12th June - Pack camping bag for Outbound Singapore Camp [OBS]
  • 13th June - Go play badminton at my friend's house and listen to her long story...
  • 14th June - Hilda invited me to go Wild Wild Wet but I refused as I have Council Meeting with my   fellow Exco members, teacher and his girlfriend

A day during June Holidays 2012

Hey, I just wanted to type some stuff here as I am so super bored right now even though I know that I should be studying and doing homework. I feel like a lazy bum during the first week of the June Holidays 2012. I did not do anything except watch television, play computer games, watch anime on computer and do housework... I feel so lazy right now that I feel that I must try my best to get out of the house to the Woodlands Library or something so that I can study. I have already arranged with my friends, Wan Hoon and Queenie and Rachel and Hilda that I can go out with them more during the June Holidays instead of staying at home. I think if everything goes well, I will be playing badminton with Rachel at her house downstairs. I told her my badminton skills suck and she told me that she was looking forward to a good game but since she had to be coop up at home as she failed A maths. She can only go to school and go home, thats all. I feel sad for her. Okay, maybe a bit of sadness.

I know that I am procrastinating but who can help it. We all need someone good enough to motivate each other. And that someone fro me is my parents and brother. Just hoping they would pay more attention to me and of course, I know my mother is paying quite a lot of attention to me as I see everyday from morning to night in the house and I really feel that I need some fresh air. I don't know how my mother can stand it as she has in this house for many years and does not feel bored? Maybe she does feel a bit bored. But anyway, my Mid Year Examinations were totally terrible and I did not show my report book to my parents or my brother. Last time, regardless of whether good or bad, I would show them. But maybe now that I am in sec 3 and next year is my SUPER BIG 'O' LEVEL Examinations that I feel inferior to my brother, I only got one A1 and it is Principals of Accounts (POA).

As you can see, PROCRASTINATION IS BAD!!!! I wish I was at work and living with a friend that I can trust and believe in and that that friend is a reliable and good and responsible girl. Okay, I'm not waiting for a miracle to happen or a sudden change in the time dimension that I will suddenly become 24 years old and start to work.  But I am just wishing without any regrets for my very own future.

Stupid Mid-Year Examinations!!!!

Here I am blogging about this year 2012 Mid Year Examinations, it was sort of the worst examinations results I had and the worst up and down feelings I had these few days. Sometimes I feel like crying, sometimes I feel that I need to forget everything and start to play and feel happy as if nothing had ever happened. But in my heart, I know that I had did very poorly even if my friends or even you the person reading this. Let me tell you a summary for my results.

- English  = B4 (I forgot, but I think it is this grade)

- Chinese = B4 / 60 marks upon 100 marks......
          ^ Oral      : 30/40 (Never expected it)
          ^ Paper 1 : Composition part > 18/40........( I can't believe it)
: Listening Comprehension > 9/20.... (Need to dig my ear)
          ^ Paper 2 : Comprehension and fill the blanks part > 49/70

- E-Mathematics = FAIL D7 [44 marks] No one in 3E1 & 3E2 passed Mathematics....
(I feel like smashing my head against the wall and die)

- Combined Science = FAIL D7 [47 marks]
          ^ Physics     > 30 /50 (50% of combined science)
          ^ Chemistry > 17/50  (50% of combined science)

- Combined Humanities = B4 / 62 marks (SO LOW)
          ^ History           > 25 / 41
          ^ Social Studies > 27 / 41

- Principles of Accounts (POA) = A1 / 82 marks (Okay lah , better than I expected it to be)
          ^ Paper 1  > 33 / 40 ( Mostly Theory + A bit of Practical )
          ^ Paper 2  > 49 / 60 ( Mostly Practical + A bit of Theory )

* I told my mother today that I got 82 marks for POA and she got angry and scolded me.... She said I scored 97 marks for CA1 and now I scored 82 marks for SA1 which is Mid Year Examinations. So I did not do well, I am suppose to remain at that standard or do better. What the!!!! I bet if she learn POA, she will fail so badly. She sucks!!!!!!! I can't believe such an unreasonable woman is my mother. I totally prefer my dad to her as she keep on changing her expectations and standard. Damn her!!!!!!! When I do poorly, she ask me to get A1. When I get A1, she want me get 80 marks and above. When I get a rare 82 marks for SA1, she scold me for not keeping my standard at 97 marks in CA1.....

What is CA1 and SA1?
- CA1 results is all the homework and assignments and class tests put together to form the results.
- SA1 results is just the exam papers alone.

So I feel that I totally did fine in Principles of Accounts (POA) Exam!!! :D
Although I did badly for the rest, I don't care anymore as I will strive harder during the June Holidays and get a B3 for my E-Maths!!!! Jia You !!!! I can do it!!!!

CIP - BINTAN TRIP!!!!

The Argo Resort BATHROOM Shower!!!

I went for this Community Involvement Programme (CIP) - To climb Mount Bintan and to interact with the local Bintan orphans there. They are malays and are living in the orphanage. The coach tells us that we need to have 3 things in mind when we go there: Sympathy, Empathy and one more, I forgot. hehe :D

I went there with my class 3E2 and also 3E1 with a few teachers: Ms Wendy Chew, Mr Iwan, Mr Isman and a few others. It was a 1 hour bus ride from school to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, and after all the check in by the Singapore Security thingy, we boarded the ferry to Bintan. It was a dizzy ferry ride. It took 45 minutes from Tanah Merah to Bintan Ferry Terminal. I ate sour plums, chips, seaweed and coco pops (a type of chocolate cereal) to gain more energy to climb the mounain later. I was in a group with Queenie, Felicia, Addison, Wan Hoon, Adam and Vernon, my classmates. We decided to do a singing performance as every group was suppose to make a 3 minutes performance. The performance was cancelled at the last minute but we were wanted to sing 'Call Me Maybe"!!! I was relieved that it was cancelled as I cannot sing. I can't even sing ' Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'...

We did a lot things there. I did not even know that climbing Mountain Bintan was not as easy as I thought it was but I still managed to climb it. I want to climb it again!! *Sniff sniff~~ There were a total of 5 pit stops for us to rest and drink water to hydrate myself. I was helping Wan Hoon all the way as she keeps falling and there was once when she almost fell on her buttock but I hold her hand to prevent her from falling. She thanked me and we continued on with our journey. The whole thing was so fun and there is so much to talk about. I really LOVED this experience!!!

High Tech me~~

I feel more high tech now and feel so fortunate. I have made a new account in twitter, skype, and have a cute little netbook, with a smartphone that of course has wifi. I can't believe it. But nowadays, youngsters are very bad and it comes from the primary schools. Because their parents not teaching them well and loves them too much, they received all of these high tech stuff when they are in primary 4 onwards. As the kids saw their friends having it so they want it too but they don't actually need it.. But because the parents love them too much, they buy whatever their kids want. Most kids these days even have iphone...

My Brother's Birthday is coming!!!

My Brother's Birthday is coming again!!! I don't know what to buy for him as my mother is going to give him a red packet again with a small strawberry cake. So I can't give him a cake this year. And his birthday is coming in 5 days and I still ahve not thought of what am I going to give him. Some updates about him so that I will remember: He broke up with his girlfriend from secondary school. And now he is in another relationship with a girl from Hwa Chong Institution. He told my mother that that girl he likes does not have a temper or a bad attitude. Oh well, all guys feel like that for the girl they loved. Love is undefined and blinds the people who have it. That is why only outsiders can see the whole relationship clearly whether are they really in love or not. When my english teacher ask the class to write a love essay, I scored very high marks upon 30. Love, love, love~~~~~

**Love is amazing and it could do wonders to our life. Bring us colours. It is a very spectacular feeling and I hope to feel that one day.

Brother's birthday for 5th October 2010

I wrote this on 5 October 2010. But I forgot to post this so I am posting it now.
As usual as any other day, my brother went to school and will only be back from 6pm to 7.30pm and I went to school and my mother stayed at home and my father went to work. My father came home earlier(but I think my father did not buy anything for my brother and he does not really buy birthday presents for me and my brother anymore) and me and my mother went to the shopping mall near our home to find and buy a birthday ckae and present for my brother. In the end, me and my mother decided to buy my brother a black shirt with a nice design and buy him a small little cupcake with a small yellow bee on it as I had to pay for it and my mother would not payfor it as she will give my brother a red packet.

Mid-Year Examinations are here again!!!

Mid-Year Examinations are here again and this time, I am in secondary 3. I am totally unprepared for this examination and I already know that I will do very badly in this exam. So that is why I am trying to get focus on my tasks ahead of me!! After publishing this post, I am going to continue to do my homework. I am studying POA, English, Chinese, Mathematics, Combined Science (Chemistry, Physics), Combined Humanities (Social Studies, History Elective) and Art. A total of 7 subjects!

In the midst of Sec 3 Mid-Year Examinations

I am now in the midst of sec 3 Mid-Year Examinations. I have went for English, Chinese, Maths Paper 1, Combined Science-Physics, POA paper 1, Combined Humanities- Social Studies and History. I still need to go and study for POA paper 2 (on tues, 8/5), Combined Science-Chemistry Paper (on wed, 9/5), Maths Paper 2 (on thurs, 10/5) and finally Art Paper [3 HOURS - on friday, 11/5] but there is still one more thing before examinations are over. And that is the English Oral on friday, 11/5!!!! :D

I think I will do well in Chinese and POA Paper 1. Perhaps I will do well in English and Combined Humanities. I think I will fail my combined science as I always fail in science. My combined science Physics teacher, Mr Chai, tells me that the result is not out yet so I should not feel like that. But I know my standard...and I know that it is not the teacher's fault, it is my own problem for physics only. But for chemistry, it is the change of teacher, that made me understand better. And if I really pass my combined science together, I would celebrate!!! I also promised to give Mr Chai a chocolate if I passed!!! Hoping for a miracle to happen!!! :D I know that miracles are rare but still hoping!! I hope that next week I would be better prepared for the examinations!!

New SYF song 2013 coming up!!!

My life is going to be busier than ever again. Starting from next Monday, 16th April 2012, CO will be learning the NEW Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) song for 2013. This SYF is a competition for performing arts from the various schools in Singapore and it is held every 2 years eg. I did my SYF in Secondary 2 in 2011 and now        I will learning the new SYF song for 2013 when I will be secondary 4. So we will take about a year to fully grasp the tune and rhythm of the song as now I am secondary 3, coming to 15 years old this year! The song piece is called Ode to Peace The third movement: The Sorrow of the River 和平颂之第三乐章: 江怨.

It sounds like a sad song to me so I have a feeling that it is a sad song. I hoped it is G major so that I can play it better as I am better in G major than the others like F major, C major, D major, etc. Anyway, I was suppose to start learning this new song on Monday but I have councillor meeting at 3.35pm and Chinese Oral Examination at 2pm on the Same Monday, 16th April 2012. So I was suppose to start learning it on the next practice after Monday, but I cannot go too as my class 3E2 and class 3E1 will be going to Mount Bintan to climb the mountain which is at Indonesia. So I will be going with my classmates and 3E1 people to Mount Bintan for Community Involvement Programme (CIP). We will go by ferry and bus. Yipee!!! I can't wait to start learning the new SYF song 2013 and to go Bintan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Student Investiture 2012

This Student Investture which was held on the 30th of March 2012 in the school hall was a very magnificient change to my secondary school life. As I am appointed to be the Head of Discipline (An EXCO) of the Council Board when I did not even go for the EXCO elections so other people think that the teachers were biased and I was a bootlicker but I did not even want this in the first place, I was just helping and greeting the teachers as a fellow student and as a councillor. Just because they don't help their teachers who are struggling to carry their books back to the staff room does not mean that I cannot help them. Just because they are so rude and not respectful to their teachers that they do not greet their teachers when they meet along the corridor in school does not mean that I cannot do so, I was doing this out of courtesy and respect. What do their parents teach them nowadays? Luckily, I have parents that teach me proper manners and I would not be a disgrace to them and to the country. They don't even have basic manners and can't even follow basic rules eg. Not suppose to alter skirts/pants (they did it), Not suppose to bring food & drinks to class (they did it), Not suppose to use handphone in class (they did it again).

Anyway, back to the main point, the student investiture is a event held every year to acknowledge the class leaders, cca leaders, councillors and to appoint the new Council Board batch. This year, 2012, I was given 2 batches, I was appointed the Head of Discipline (2 days before the actual event) and the Vice-President of Chinese Orchestra (CO). These were 2 very important positions that I will have to put my heart, body and soul in it. Although I cannot guarantee that I will be commited in this but I promise to try my best. This year as I am sec 3, I am also starting to prepare for the GCE 'O' levels Examination. So this means that I will be busy like crazy, you will never meet another more busy secondary small school girl that is so busy till I think I will cry, be stressed out and I think I will get scolded many times in the next few months for not handing in homework on time as I have bad time management and I will surely have no time as I will also have to plan camps for both the Council Board, my CCA- Chinese Orchestra so luckily the Mount Bintan trip came earlier in April 2012 so that I will have lesser things to thing about. I think my results will dropped drastically!!! That would be so pathetic and I would freaked out and stressed out more.. sigh~~ I am happy that I am so lucky and that I was given this 2 heavy responsibilty positions but maybe I feel that this is too much. Hoped that I get through this year so that next year, 2013, I will be less busy as I would badge the next set of Council Board members [The New 2013 EXCOs] and relieve my duties of being a EXCO and a councillor.

Advanced Elective Module (AEM)

Advanced Elective Module [AEM]

Adventure Experimental Programme:Planning Outdoor Experimental Programmes
This was an 5 day course during the March Holidays and was held at Republic Polytechnic (RP) for straight 5 days- Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm. (Like working hours~). There was only about 20 students who could participate in this course, and it is such an expensive course. I paid $75 using edusave account and luckily MOE subsides from $400 to $75. There was councillors and Outdoor Activities Club (OAC) members in this course and thankfully, we knew each other from Sec 1, starting from the year 2010. People in AEM: Me, Addison, Trevor, Yi Chien, Sonya, Joyce, Tessa, Kamilla, Rebecca Thng, Rebecca Chua, Daniel Yap, Madelyn (Drama Club person, neither a councillor or an OAC member, Don't know how she managed to be in this course), Shahidah and many others.....

I still remember on the first day, there was this lecturer (teacher) named Mr Andrew, he asked us to self-intro - Say 3 things about yourself but one thing must be a lie and this was to test how much your friends know about you. I said that I like orange, I like my CCA and I like Addison (My classmate in school). The lie was obviously the 'I like Addison' part. But all of them were like laughing and thinking that it was true and that I was making a confession..., Addison was blushing and his face was as red as a cherry.

Anyway, this course was to teach us on how to plan outdoor camps well so as to allow students to learn something from it and Mr Andrew also taught us how to facilitate a game, did tests everyday on the last 30 minutes of the lesson, how to do a good lesson plan for the games that we were facilitating so that the students will be focus, learn something from it, be safe and have fun instead of boredom. I chose the game Blow Wind Blow but I modified it. So instead of one person moving around, they have to get a partner then the other games rules are still the same. And they will then learn about Teamwork, Cooperation & Observant.

AEM, this course made me gain 2 Kilograms(Kg), as there will at least 4 breaks and every break, there will be delicious and mouth-watering food to eat. I ate alot and the drinks were all the same everyday, it was Lemon Barley. I am now 29 Kilograms but still severely underweight. The school suddenly said one day that they wanted to help the underweight and severely underweight people to be healthy so they introduced a program that will make 80 students in the school to be healthy by making them eat cereal, egg, milk powder and one packet of milo. I hoped that I am not in this course but when I told my mother about it, she said she would sponsor this program if I am not in this program as she wants me to eat more... I eat alot already...

Anyway, I love this 5 day course that was Tiring and exhausting but it was Very Fun as we get to play a lot of games and I think the activity that I like most is the Tunnel Cave. The Tunnel Cave is made up of 6 containers with the installed Cave-like look in it. It is totally pitch dark in there and you can't even see your own friends or fingers. I was so scared and desperate that I begged and pleaded Mr Andrew to give the group a lightstick then when he came with it, he turned his head and talked to someone else but was still holding the lightstick. I took the lightstick in a desperate moment and I knew I was rude, he said I was rude but I was scared, terrified and Desperate. It was my first time in that cave, first time in such a pitch dark corner with holes in it that I 'know whether I will fall and drop inside anytime, first time I was so desperate for a LightStick. You know what they say "Desperate moments cause for desperate measures". But after I finished the activity with my group members that we took about 30 minutes, I was happy that I took a step forward to overcome my fear instead of pulling out, and although no one knew that I was scared as I was acting brave and not showing my fear, I am proud of myself. I learned a lot of things from this camp and I know that I will surely put all these things that I learnt from AEM into good use for my CCA as I am now the Vice-President of Chinese Orchestra (CO). Amazing, right? I can't believe too when my teacher announced it.

Time flies really very fast and I have not been writing my blog for about 6 months already!
These are the extraordinary things that happen to me in the last 6 months:

- I am in Secondary 3 Express, coming to fifteen years old this year 2012, and in class 3E2, which I study in.
- I study English, Chinese, E-Maths, Principles Of Accounts (POA), Social Studies (SS), History, Combined Science (Chemistry, Physics) and Art.
- My 1.6km run (2 rounds outside my school) is now 8 mins 32 seconds which is faster than during my primary school days.
- I am now 147 cm.
- I joined percussion (drums group) in Chinese Orchestra for Chinese New Year (CNY) as all of the members in that group graduated last year. Now I am back in my own instrument group.
- I received a distinction (89/100) for my Grade 3 Zhong Ruan NUS Instrumental Exam 2011. I played Rasa Sayang and Yao Lan Qu. There was only one judge in that examination room.
- I bought and shared a locker with my friend this year 2012.
- I have a netbook!!! My father bought it for me at August 2011 last year.
- I only received 5 Ang Baos (Red Packets) this year 2012 during Chinese New Year. So little ~~
- This year is the Water Dragon year, it has been raining lately.
- My school is participating in the Chingay but I cant participate as they only allow sec ones ~
